Reds-Brewers Preview (6/13-6/15)

Brewers previews to get you ready for the series where we have five things to watch, pitching matchups and prediction. We add a YouTube video in the mix, it could be really anything.

Pitching Matchups
Friday: Homer Bailey (7-3 4.60) vs. Matt Garza (4-4 4.42)       7:10 pm FSNWI
Saturday: Mat Latos (0-0 0.00) vs. Yovani Gallardo (4-4 3.71) 6:15 pm FOX
Sunday: Mike Leake (3-6 3.61) vs. Marco Estrada (5-3 4.56)   1:10 pm FSNWI

Five Things To Watch
1.) Ryan Braun - It seems like we talk about this topic every two weeks. Braun goes hot for a little bit then cools off and it has become a theme of the season thus far. Braun struggled in the last road trip, but he has good success against Bailey plus he had a home run off Leake in the past. I mentioned in Highlights-Lowlights earlier this afternoon, I think Braun needs to get back to playing at hitter-friendly parks. I think he does well this weekend.

2.) Matt Garza's Solid June - All of the sudden, Garza has seen his ERA dip about a half of run in the last two starts. He is quietly pitching well for the Brewers. He handled Minnesota nicely and did an adequate job in Pittsburgh.  Garza will be up against a tough Cincinnati lineup whose handled him well in the past. Garza needs to keep staying the course and not try to do too much.

3.) Return of Mat Latos - He makes his first start of the season on Saturday night. He struggled mightily against the Brewers last season with nearly six runs given up in three starts, the highest ERA against an NL Central team. He had two starts at Miller Park which one he didn't get any run support and the other was brutal for him. First starts are always tricky because they could feature the best a pitcher has to open their year or just a disaster.

4.) Mike Leake's problems... Dodgers and Giants-related or nah? - In the last two starts, Mike Leake has given up a total of 10 runs. But the opponents he faced where both Los Angeles and San Francisco, two of the stronger offensive teams in Major League Baseball. He also getting little run support with six of his last eight starts, the Reds have put up three or less runs. Brewers had one of those in a 2-0 victory in early May.

5.) Bullpen adjustment - Milwaukee used their bullpen a lot in the last couple of days. Brandon Kintzler is probably not playing tonight after throwing 40 pitches last night. Will Smith might be a shaky one with pitching in the last two games. It is nice to have Mike Fiers there in case Garza doesn't have it tonight or Milwaukee needs multiple innings.

Appropriate YouTube Video

In honor of Father's Day, we are going with a montage HBO put together for the Game of Thrones finale about how bad Fathers have been in the show.

Prediction
Brewers will take two of three games. It would be nice for them to actually win the first one because I am there tonight. Reds always make me nervous.

Quick Tap Podcast Episode Eleven

Quick Tap podcast episode eleven hits you hard and hits you fast today.  We talk about a variety of things
for 20 minutes of goodness. I talk about Manny Machado's bat throwing incident by answering the question 'Would you rather deal with a bat thrown at you or a baseball thrown at you?' I discuss my top three karaoke go-to songs. I talk about Madden Curses and why people will be all over Richard Sherman if he is not good this season. It continues with a discussion about advocating against circumcision which I had no idea was a real thing but apparently it is leading to my mind being blown. Why it's my fault I got let down by Game of Thrones. Quarterback gossip talk with Aaron Rodgers/Olivia Munn and Johnny Manziel.

Quick Tap Podcast Episode 10

This edition of Quick Tap is a light one to be honest with you. We only got three questions (Thanks to James, Adam and Bryan for those by the way) meaning I had to ramble a little bit which is okay honestly. I had fun with this one even though we were light on content. The topics discussed... Who is the one band I would see at any venue, would you rater have Norris Cole's career or John Stockton's and power ranking of deli meat with Swiss cheese taking ham out of the equation. I have an update on my tanning adventures, quick ramble about Tinder, Game of Thrones talk and we finish with why I watch professional wrestling in the summer time.

Quick Tap Podcast Episode Seven

Quick Tap Podcast is back again. We are still struggling on questions so if you ever have questions... Ask me. I will favorite it and talk about on this podcast. You could be wondering something dumb at 3 AM on a Wednesday night when you are drunk after striking out at the bar. First couple questions are about Green Bay Packers draft picks specifically the receivers and who could be some of the young players without jobs in Green Bay next year. The next question moves with reflecting on the most embarrassing places I have had to hold in a fart. Whose the better NFL pro, Jordan Lynch or Tom Savage?  The three people I would take to The Masters. Then TV time when I talk about 24, Mad Men and Game of Thrones.

Quick Tap Podcast Episode Six

Another edition of Quick Tap podcast gracing your ears this week. We didn't get a ton of questions, and I am kinda bummed out about it to be honest. I need an idea to spark questions here. I don't know if we just don't know have the people to ask questions or what.  Hopefully, this will keep going in the near future, if you have an idea, email me ---> snotap12@gmail.com.

Anyways, what we ended up talking about here was how you would react to seeing a dead body,  my starting five of NBA clutch players, what musician's life you want to be which I changed up a bit and what to drink if your football team lost like Liverpool did on Monday which basically turned into why I don't have a favorite hockey or football team. Game of Thrones and 24 get talked about at the end.

Quick Tap Episode Five

Quick Tap rolls on with another edition where we have a ton of fun especially with some of the questions today.  I promise I am going to find a way via Google for you to ask questions whenever you want instead of waiting for me to tweet out questions. We had some good ones this week which is good and it makes me happy. So here's what we received in the batch of questions.

Curt asks... "Ryan Braun hitting Jean Segura in the face makes him the worst person in baseball, right?" (He is obviously joking folks)

Adam asks... "How much would you give up to get Earl Thomas to the Green Bay Packers?"

Bryan asks... "Pancakes, Waffles, French Toast. Rank em."

Bryan asks... "If you were on Naked and Afraid, who is your partner and what's your survival tool."

Michael asks... "How are you?"

That took me to 14 minutes and I finished the six minutes talking about how I had to deal with racism on Saturday plus some Game of Thrones chatter.
