Recapping The Challenge: Everyone is Mad At Jordan & Laurel

Adam Hatlak, one of our writers here is as big of a Challenge fans as I am. We want to expand our coverage a bit so we are doing a recap blog post on Friday. He will basically have three to five takeaways each week talking about things that happened on The Challenge.

It was a better week this week, but it still feels like the episodes are short, and not including everything that old episodes used to.

Jordan's Argument with Jess: Here's the problem I had with the discussion between Jordan and Jess, he wasn't even discussing what he was actually mad about. Jordan's frustration stemmed from Jess snitching on Laurel, but instead of talking about that, he talked about how she was bad at missions. Had he chose the right argument, it might have gone better for him.

Brandon Squared: One of my favorite scenes of the week was only about 15 seconds, but it was when Brandon (Nelson) was telling Brandon (Swift) about voting trends. Instead of being all hysterical about getting voted for, Nelson told Swift, it disappointed him, and advised him to vote smarter in the future, and not just try to fit in. This show discusses the veteran/rookie dynamic a lot, and it usually is just the veterans bullying the rookies, it was nice to see some mentoring going on.

Captains: I'm glad Cara Maria won, but she deserved to go into that elimination more than anyone else on the team. WHAT WAS SHE DOING WITH THOSE TEAMS! If you allow the other team to be stacked to have CT, Bananas, Jordan, Laurel, and Nany, you're going to lose. Cara Maria has to pick a better team.

"In Front of My Face": Okay, I get that drama makes this show, and it's a stressful environment, and that getting voted into an elimination sucks, BUT, people have got to decide what they want to complain about. Generally, people (like LaToya in this episode) are upset when people go behind their back to vote them in the elimination. So Aneesa, is upset that Laurel is trying to vote her in, right in front of her face. Sooooo, people can't vote behind someone's back, or in front of their face? What are they supposed to do? Basically, it is a no win situation no matter what route the Challenge members go with.

Charlie.
